A couple of blankets...

I haven't practiced quilting AT ALL. I still gotta get better at sewing a straight line. Plus, I discovered spray adhesive and it just didn't work out that well for me. I've just gotta keep practicing...while spending all of my allowance on fabric, etc.

I made this super cute blanket for my friend Brittany.  She is having her first baby, boy, due in April.  She is an Alabama grad...hence the elephant with paw print.  The little dog is supposed to represent her spaniel, Gracie.  This is one of my better blankets although I will say I had a time getting it all finished...matching thread can be a nightmare sometimes.  Plus some other whoops moments I won't get into...

My favorite part about her blanket is the pretty blue chevron fabric I just happened to run across at the fabric store.  At the time I purchased it I had no idea what I was going to use it for I just knew I wanted it for something.  Luckily, when I contacted Brittany to find out her nursery colors she said slate blue, brown and white...PERFECT!!!

I have been wanting to do something with all of these pink remnants I've accumulated, so I thought trying Ombre would be neat.  Once it was done I went searching for the perfect complimentary back fabric.  I found these cute little owls.  Owls are in, right?  All in all, it turned out ok.  This is the blanket that gave me fits using the spray adhesive.  That stuff drys to fast and gets everywhere...
I guess the more you do it the better you get, but I feel like some places on the quilt were too stuck and other didn't stick at all.  Oh well...again, I just need more practice...
